One of the most pivotal moments of history will play out on Pittsburgh’s largest screen next week.
The Carnegie Science Center’s Rangos Giant Cinema will present “D-Day: Normandy 1944 in 3D” starting this Saturday (June 1) through the 6th.
At the Sunday showing, World War II vets from the Veterans Breakfast Club will introduce the film and participate in a panel discussion following the film.
Narrated by Tom Brokaw, the film tells the story of June 6, 1944 when the largest Allied operation of WWII began in Normandy, France.
Through a blend of computer-generated imagery, archival photos, animated cartography, aerial footage, and live action re-enactments, the film will focus on why and how, from the end of 1943 through August 1944, the region became the most important location in the world.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Tickets to the film are still on sale here.
