Our hearts are shattered to announce the passing of Carri Ann (Bowser) Schroder, 48 of Valencia, PA, early Friday morning. On April 25th, 2025, Carri died at Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by her family after a year-long battle with hemochromatosis.
Born June 4, 1976 at Butler Memorial Hospital, she was the daughter of Kathleen (Sweeney) Bowser, Butler, PA and Thomas Bowser, West Sunbury, PA. Carri graduated from Karns City High School in 1994, where she was a band member and Gremlinette.
Carri worked at Penn United Technologies for 29 years building global customer relationships, many evolving to life long friendships. In her lifetime, she enjoyed sporting events including, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins games, sailing the Caribbean, white sand beaches, her pets, concerts, dancing, word searches, movie trivia, and the outdoors. An avid and renowned baker and confectionary artist, Carri thrived during the holiday season preparing thousands of exquisitely detailed Christmas cookies for friends and family.
Above all, was Carri’s selfless devotion, support, and unwavering love for her proudest and greatest accomplishment, her son, Alex. In 2024, Carri was humbled and grateful for the gift of organ donation and appreciative of the additional year of life afforded by a liver transplant.
Carri is survived by her husband, Dale Schroder, Jr. Valencia, PA; son, Alexander Karenbauer, San Diego, CA; stepson, Hunter Schroder, Valencia, PA; parents, Kathleen (Sweeney) Bowser, Butler, PA and Thomas Bowser, West Sunbury, PA; two brothers, Joel Bowser, Atlanta, GA and Dustin (Kayla) Bowser, Chicora, PA; niece, Carlyn Bowser, Chicora, PA and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Carri was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph and Martha (Miller) Sweeney and Thomas and Maxine (Haye) Bowser.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 6-8 PM at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001. WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
