Cary P Adkins, 62, of Butler passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. He was born in Huntington, WV on April 17, 1960, to Jenny Adkins and the late Alton “Brooks” Adkins. Cary served his country honorably in the United States Army. Cary was employed as a Certified Recovery Specialist at Butler VA Healthcare and was a co-founder of the Veteran “X” group of Butler and the lead instructor. The group helped support hundreds of Veterans and was ranked top in the country. He also traveled to help other Veteran “X” groups get set up. He loved spending time with family, golfing, reading, helping others, Cleveland sports, and the New England Patriots. Cary was the father of Brian (Elizabeth) Adkins II and Cary “CJ” Adkins Jr; brother of Brooke Schlather and the late Brian Adkins; and grandfather of Madelyn and Brian. Uncle to Halle Reinoso (Mike) and Ben (Rachel) Schlather. He is also survived by his significant other Kim Butler and her family.
Services in Cleveland will be held privately at a later date. Services in Butler for family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 5-7 PM in the SPENCER D.
