Catherine “Kitty” Walker, 86, of Butler, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Newhaven Court at Clearview.
She was born on April 27, 1938, in Butler, PA, to the late Elmer and Catherine (Bashline) Stokes.
Catherine graduated from Butler High School in 1956. She then worked as a Clerk at Woolworth’s until retiring in 1960, to become a devoted homemaker for her loving family. She was also a very active member at Grace at Calvary Lutheran Church, where she was the head of preparing all the church’s funeral dinners. She also volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program in Butler. Catherine spent most of her time baking in the kitchen, cooking treats for her family and friends. Her cakes, pies, and cookies were enjoyed by many, especially during the Christmas season. In addition to baking, Kitty enjoyed knitting and spending time with her loving family.
Catherine is survived by her three sons, David Walker, of Butler, PA, Richard Walker, of Butler, PA, and Mark Walker, of Butler, PA; her daughter, Lori (Dennis) Marsh, of Harrisburg, PA; her five grandchildren, Joseph Walker, Matthew Walker, Amanda McDade, Daylin Glasgow, and Ashten Glasgow; her numerous great-grandchildren; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Jack M. Walker, whom she married on June 17, 1960, and who passed away on July 25, 2019; as well as by her infant daughter, Joyce Walker.
Family and Friends will be received from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North Street, Butler, PA 16001, with Reverend Kimberly Van Driel, of First English Lutheran Church, officiating.
Catherine will be interred next to her husband in Concord Cemetery.
