Central Electric Cooperative is advising to conserve power this afternoon and early evening due to high energy costs.
Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s/lower 90s today during peak heat hours. This will create a high demand for energy leading to an increase in energy prices.
Customers are asked to conserve power from 1pm to 7pm. That can be done by doing chores during non-peak hours, unnecessary lights and electronics are off, and cooking on grills or on stove tops.
Temperatures will continue to rise through the week so be prepared, the advisory could be continued later in the week. For more information go to centreal.coop/beat-peak.com.
