With warmer temperatures ahead of us this summer, Central Electric Cooperative says it’s now peak alert season.
Peak alerts are issued when the weather reaches hot and humid conditions that would see the price of electric rise during high demand hours.
During peak alerts, Central Electric asks for people to cut down on electricity usage and household chores to help keep the electric costs low for the cooperative.
The typical time for these alerts are during the summer from 1 to 7 p.m.
