Cecelia P. Jackson, 90, of Butler, passed away Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022, at the Sunnyview Home.
Born January 25, 1932 in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Francis Morrison and Cecelia (Geibel) Morrison.
Cecelia was a 1950 graduate of Butler High School, was a homemaker and had worked as a receptionist and secretary for A.B. Mann Optician Co. in Butler for 24 years. Before moving to the city of Butler, she had lived on McGrady Hollow Road in Clearfield Township for over 20 years. She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, Christian Mothers and St. Paul’s Guild, the C.D. of A., the American Legion Auxiliary Post #117, and the East Butler Fireman’s Auxiliary. She had been an Altar server at St. Paul’s Church for funerals, weddings, also weekday masses and belonged to golf and bowling leagues.
Surviving is her son, Ralph N. (Lucinda) Jackson of Honey Brook, PA.
Her daughter, Karen M. Geibel of Butler.
2 grandsons: Jeffrey (Shirley) Geibel and Donald (Anna) Geibel, all of Butler.
1 great grandson, Logan Geibel.
1 sister, Norberta “Mae” Duffy of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Harry M. Jackson, whom she married October 25, 1950 at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center, he passed away March 1, 2021; 2 brothers, Edward and Bernard Morrison; 4 sisters, Frances O’Neill, Hilda Morrison, Mary Catherine “Kay” Kienzle and Anna Cranmer.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10:00 am, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler. The Rev. Kevin Fazio to officiate. Internment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
