Several local organizations are joining together for a reading and writing event open to the public later this week in Butler.
Students in a creative writing class at Slippery Rock University will be reading from a collection of writings they composed in a Celebration of Authors reception Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Butler SUCCEED on North Main Street.
Through a partnership between the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership at SRU and the Butler County Drug and Alcohol Program, the subjects of this writing will be five volunteers in recovery from addiction.
Each participant will receive a printed, hand-woven anthology of the compositions. This gathering is open to the public and will include refreshments.
