Charles (Chub) M. Miller, Sr. 88 of Highfield passed away Thursday August 10, 2017 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 25, 1929, son of the late John M. and Lucille Miller.
He retired from Armco Steel from the shipping department, plant 2 in 1988.
He married the love of his life, Amelia “Emily” Miller on 7/31/54, who preceded him in death on 5/9/05.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, and spending time at his camp in Sigel, Pa, his home away from home. Deer season, camp and all the activities that went along with it, was his favorite time of the year. Some of his other favorite activities included gardening, traveling, casinos, and watching his beloved “tv westerns”.
He was both active and a board member of Highfield Community Center an a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 3807 in Clarion.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who had a special bond with his children and especially his daughter Angie who provided him care and comfort during his illness.
He is survived by his four children: Angela “Angie” Miller, of Butler; Charles “Charlie” (Kathy) Miller of Butler; James “Jimmy” (Margie) Miller of Omaha, Nebraska; Paul “Pauly” (Becky) Miller of Butler and a daughter from a previous marriage, Doria Walker of TN.
He is survivied by his grandchildren Stephen Miller and Stephanie (Miller) Davely (Bill), Amber (Miller) Ernster (AJ), Zachary Miller and Kendal Miller, as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Logan, Sydney, Chase and Quinn.
Also surviving are his four siblings Dorothy Sinz, Norma Reep, Richard Miller and Donna DeMarco all of Butler.
His son and favorite barber, Darryl Miller , an infant daughter, and his beloved fur baby “Maggie” preceded him in death.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Monday at 10:00 am from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Avenue Butler. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Butler.
The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will conduct a a prayer service at 3:00 pm Sunday from the Funeral Home.
