Charles “Chuck” Palace, 68 of Butler passed away on Monday, May 29th, 2023. He
was born in Butler on February 22nd, 1955 to the late Charles Sr. and Rose
(Schnitzki) Palace. Chuck worked for Pullman Standard until their closing, after
which he worked in the autobody field for the remainder of his career. He was a
member of the Slovak Sokol Society and the American Legion, Post 778, both of
Lyndora.
He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, including going to his camp in Tionesta and
picking mushrooms. In addition, he was an avid fisherman participating in many local
bass and crappie tournaments with his longtime fishing partner, John Grystar. Many
will remember him for his deer processing, homemade sausage, and kielbasa.
Above all, he loved nothing more than attending his kids and granddaughter’s
sporting events and band performances.
He was hardworking, loving, and had a great sense of humor. Chuck was a
phenomenal husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His granddaughters brought
so much joy to his life; they were his special helpers in so many ways. He was loved
by so many and will be forever missed. Chuck was the loving husband of Christine
(Czyzyk) Palace since their marriage in 1982; father of Adam (Joelene) and Hank
Palace, and grandfather of Ava and Olivia. Family and friends will be received on
Thursday, June 1st, 2023 from 1-3 and 5-7 PM in the SPENCER D. GEIBEL
