Charles G. Steighner, 88, of Butler, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born December 14, 1932, in Mars, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles C. Steighner and the late Emma (Kornick) Steighner.
Charles graduated from Mars High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Charles was a member of the All Saints Parish at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He retired from International Staple and Machine Company in 1995. Charles enjoyed word search puzzles, watching, and cheering on Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers.
He is survived by his wife Carol Steighner, whom he married November 24, 1960; one daughter, Linda Sell; one granddaughter, Megan Sell, all of Butler; one nephew, Ralph Spithaler Jr. (Bette) of Evans City; and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; one sister, Dorothy Spithaler; and one brother-in-law, Ralph Spithaler, Sr..
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2021, from All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. Mckean St., Butler, PA, with Rev. Dan Waruszewski.
Private burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
