A Chicora man is facing several charges after allegedly choking and threatening to kill his fiancé.
On Monday State Police were called to a home on the 1100 block of Oneida Valley Road in Oakland Township for a domestic dispute.
After an argument with his fiancé, 27-year-old Dalton Moyer allegedly began to choke his fiancé. Moyer moved her to the couch where the victim started scratching Moyer’s arms to be freed as she was losing consciousness.
The victim then went to remove her children from the home when Moyer threatened to kill her, and attempted to get a gun from a locked safe. The victim attempted to stop Moyer but he was able to get the gun and after loading it, he fired a single shot from the backyard.
Moyer’s father then arrived and Moyer left the property.
Moyer has been charged with strangulation, simple assault, and terroristic threats. Moyer was unable to make bail and will remain in the Butler County Prison as he awaits his trial.
