A native of Chicora is showing her baking prowess on a new television show.
Susan Hornug Simpson grew up in the Chicora area, where she spent the 1960s baking with her German grandmothers. Now, she’s showing those skills off in the latest season of “The Great American Baking Show.”
The show pits contestants in a series of baking challenges throughout the episode.
Simpson lived in Chicora until she was 12, and is now a resident of Delaware.
Her episode will air on the streaming platform Roku later this year.
