Chookie (Gerald) Bennetti

Chookie (Gerald) Bennetti, 90, of Butler passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. He was born in Butler on May 30, 1931 to the late Louis and Lucy (Manuel) Bennetti. Chookie was employed as an Iron Worker for Local #3 for over 30 years and was the former owner of Chookie’s Lounge. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Zelienople/Harmony Sportsman Club, Sons & Daughters of Italy, Slovak Club, Elks Club, and Marienville Sportsman’s Club. Chookie enjoyed hunting, fishing, judging boxing, wine making, and turtle hunting. He was also the author of “Chook Book”. Chookie was the beloved husband of Shari Bennetti since their marriage on July 19, 1997; father of Laurie Cannizzaro, Dana Bennetti, Laurie (Chris) Seesholtz ,Ginger (Ron) Schmeider, Valerie (Rich) Benko, and Jason (Britany) Hoffmann; grandfather of Adam Bowers, Melinda Padworski, Brendan Saylor, Jaxon Hoffman, and Brenden Seesholtz, ; great grandfather of Brailey and Damon. He was preceded in death by his son Jerry Bennetti, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and grandson David Gregg. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. All arrangements through the SPENCER D.
