Christina Winterhalter, 81, of Butler, passed gently with family by her side to her Heavenly Father’s presence on Sunday, April 25, 2021. She was born on April 14, 1940 in Wilkinsburg, PA. Her family relocated to the beautiful farmland of Butler County in the mid 1940’s. Christina was a devoted Christian, daughter and mother. She was an employee of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission as a toll collector at the Butler Valley Interchange for 31 years where countless patrons appreciated her outgoing personality, friendly disposition and most beautiful smile. Chris touched many a traveler’s path on a positive note! A great conversationalist, she had a true appreciation of others views, insights, and ideas. Christina enjoyed fine foods, music, and friendship. She also enjoyed organic gardening of flowers and vegetables and spending endless time with her hands in the soil. Christina was a true naturalist, she cherished the environment and the sanctuary of her home, which she shared with her beloved mother for many years. Christina was an advocate of conversation and the protection of wildlife. She found joy in the caring of pets and nature. Christina leaves behind her two beloved children, Joseph Workman and Jana (Workman) Rogers, both of Butler; grandmother of Damon, Phoebe (Fisher) and Aliyah Rogers; sister of Wilhelmina (Wayne) Dillner and family, of Sewickley; aunt of Karina Simmons Luna of Washington State. Christina was preceded in death by her parents Wilhelm and Hilda Winterhalter, sister Maria Simmons Rhodes and her granddaughter Aubree R. Rogers.
