A Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training has been planned for First Responders in November.
The training will be held at Family Pathways, in the Monarch Place on Burgh Avenue in Butler, from November 14-18. NAMI Butler is among the partners sponsoring the 40-hour training
designed to improve the way First Responders and the community act in response to someone experiencing a mental health crisis.
CIT programs not only creates connections between law enforcement, mental health providers, and hospital emergency services, but also with the individuals facing mental illness as well as their families.
During the training, individuals and family members are expected to share their personal stories of lived experience with mental illness.
