The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler has awarded a contract for upcoming street reconstruction.
The authority’s board approved a proposal from Independent Enterprises out of Oakdale in the amount of nearly $106,000. This was the lowest of four bids received for the project.
The streets to be improved include Donaghy Avenue from Center Avenue to Short Street, Maple Avenue from South Monroe to Grant Street, and Wyoma Avenue from West Boyd to Wallulla. A portion of South Main Street from East Muntz Avenue to East Patterson Avenue was sent out as an alternate but the other streets did not come in low enough to allow for the accomplishment of that street as well.
Gateway Engineers will oversee the completion of this project for the authority. The money to pay for the engineering services as well as the actual reconstruction will come from the 2020 Community Development Block Grant.
