Butler City Council has finalized the adoption of a budget for 2020 that includes a small tax increase.
Council unanimously voted to adopt the just over $11 million balanced budget during a meeting Thursday.
The budget is slightly higher than last year, with a one-year increase of .75 mils to arrive at a 2021 tax rate of 44 mils.
The expected increase in revenue will be used to cover expenses such as the first $15,000 interest payment on the new City Fire Department ladder truck as well as debt service bond payments.
A mill equates to $1 in taxes for every $1,000 of assessed property value.
