An event later this week aims to get rid of car seats that may be unsafe for future use.
The City of Butler Fire Department will be hosting the “Car Seat Roundup” Thursday at their station on North Washington Street.
Officials say that many child car seats and booster chairs are bought and sold at yard sales, or parents pass the seats along without realizing some may not be safe.
The roundup event will help with the easy disposal of the car seats so they are taken out of circulation or re-use.
The roundup runs from 9 a.m. to Noon Thursday.
