Butler City residents are once again able to dispose of leaves at a designated site in a local park.
The city’s compost site at Butler Memorial Park is open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays through the first week of December.
Leaves must be removed from plastic bags. The dumping of brush and garbage is prohibited. Last year the compost area was closed because of people dumping rubbish and it will be closed again if that continues.
Curbside collection is provided by the City’s Streets Department. Residents are asked to call the department if collection is needed in a neighborhood.
