After approving a new rental ordinance and checklist earlier this year, the City of Butler is taking the next step towards implementation.
Butler City Fire Chief Chris Switala hosted a dozen local landlords at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a fire code seminar at the City Fire Station.
As part of the Landlord-Tenant Relations Ordinance, a property condition checklist will be filled out by landlords when entering into a lease with a new tenant including potential fire code violations and safety items.
This ordinance will go into effect January 1st.
