A local police department was honored for outstanding efforts to increase road safety.
Butler Police recently received a Gold Award from AAA East Central for their efforts in the Community Traffic Safety Program.
A presentation at the Butler City Council meeting gave special recognition to Lieutenant Dave Villotti who coordinated the various traffic safety programs for the department the last several years in order to create a safer community for pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
A total of over 100 Western Pennsylvania Departments received honors through this program.
