The City of Butler has reached an agreement with the union that represents city employees on a new contract.
This new collective bargaining deal with Local 757/Council 84 of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO will take effect retroactively from January 1st of this year through December 31st of 2021.
This agreement is a one year extension of the previous three year agreement that includes a 2.5% increase. During the negotiation which will continue through 2021, the city and union are exploring ways to share reduced operating costs to achieve a longer term agreement.
This deal has already been approved by vote of union membership. The union represents the 19 streets and parks department and city hall employees.
