The City of Butler is giving special recognition today to a group who has devoted a large amount of time and effort to helping people over the course of the pandemic.
Mayor Ben Smith has proclaimed today as Cafeteria Workers Day in the City of Butler. When talking about the day, Smith said, “Even though with the schools being shut down, they have still been preparing an abundance of meals, perhaps to some extent more than they would during a normal school year.”
In particular, the City would like to thank the workers in the Butler Area School District who have fed children living in Butler as well as workers who are employed by other districts but live in the Butler area.
Their efforts have kept many students from going hungry during a time of food uncertainty for many families.
