The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler has awarded the contracts for this year’s summer paving projects.
Wiest Asphalt Products and Paving was the lowest of three bidders for portions of Pepper, Marvin, Grant, and Ritter streets as well as Morton, Wilkins, and Hetti avenues. The authority will use Community Development Block Grant funding to pay just over $172,000 for that project.
With a bid of almost $32,000, Mahoning Builders was chosen from among three other bidders to be awarded the contract for curb ramp replacement on several South Side city streets. This project will allow more curbs in the city to be brought into ADA compliance and will be paid for also using state grant funding.
Work is expected to start once school has let out for the summer.
