The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler is done waiting for a former tenant to clean out a building that belongs to the Authority.
The owner of Stoney Hollow Nursery rented the former Pepper’s Flowers building at 112 West Cunningham Street from the Authority for a time to use for storage while also renting the vacant lot next to it on Main Street.
Unknown tools and equipment belonging to Stoney Hollow are still in the former Pepper’s building. However after multiple attempts to get Stoney Hollow to remove the items, the Authority has directed their employees to clean out the structure. Items will be either disposed of or possibly sold.
A judge ruled two years ago that the Authority was owed nearly $18,000 in rent by Stoney Hollow but they have been unable to collect.
