A local man is facing felony charges following a search in the City of Butler earlier this week.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Butler County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, officers conducted a search warrant at a the residence of 44-year-old David “Platinum” Johnson in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue around 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
Johnson allegedly possessed five bags of suspected crack cocaine totaling 77 grams and two bags of suspected fentanyl totaling just over 3 grams mostly in a safe. The safe also contained a box of plastic baggies and a digital scale. No devices for using the drugs were found leading police to believe Johnson was planning to sell the drugs.
The items seized will be sent to the State Police Crime Lab for testing. Johnson has been charged with felony Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with the Intent to Manufacture or Deliver a Controlled Substance. He is currently in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond.
