The City of Butler is selling the fire department’s partially functioning ladder truck.
Pending solicitor review, the 1998 AM LaFrance Quint will be sold to the Sadsbury Township Conneaut Lake Borough Volunteer Fire Department for $20,000.
According to Director of Public Safety Councilman Corey Roche, that department plans to use Butler’s truck for parts. They have an engine that has the same cab which was involved in an accident so they will remove the cab from Butler’s engine and put it on their engine.
The City has been receiving ladder truck coverage when needed from Butler Township’s ladder truck. The City and the Township have recently entered into an agreement to share a joint Fire Chief.
