The Butler City Fire Department will use grant funding to replace the fire station garage doors, motors, and control equipment.
At their meeting Wednesday night, City Council approved a motion to authorize the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the work to be done before the end of this year.
The City has already been awarded money for this project through a 2023 PA Office of the State Fire Commissioner Municipal Fire Department Capital Grant.
The current doors are over 20 years old and initial estimates for the replacement are around $75,000.
