State officials are ramping up seat belt enforcement over the next week.
The state’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign urges everyone to keep safety top of mind whenever they get behind the wheel.
Pennsylvania law mandates drivers and front-seat passengers wear their seatbelt, along with anybody else under the age of 18 in the car.
Police say the Click It or Ticket campaign is not about citations, but rather saving lives.
Last year, data shows that out of 11,700 crashes where at least one person was not wearing a seatbelt, there were over 300 fatalities.
