A Sarver man is headed for court on charges that he attacked a woman with a pickaxe handle.
James Slimick Sr., 57, waived his preliminary hearing this week.
State police say they were called two weeks ago, Aug. 2, to Stark Road in Clinton Township for a reported domestic dispute.
Troopers say they found the victim with numerous injuries, including a puncture wound on her left hand. She told police Slimick was responsible for hitting her with a bat, kicking her, and stabbing her hand with the pickaxe. She was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, including a broken leg.
Slimick was located a short time later in a nearby cornfield with the assistance of a police helicopter.
The woman told police that she and Slimick are roommates. She also said he wishes to pursue a romantic relationship with her, but she does not.
