Cloyd E. “Whitey” Fair, Jr, 81, of Butler passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born March 3, 1936 in Cadogan, Pa, he was a son of the late Cloyd E. Fair, Sr. and Anastasia Greenthaner Fair.
He worked in the maintenance department for Butler Armco, retiring in 1996 following 32 years service.
He was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 117, the East Butler Volunteer Fire Co, the Happy Hunters Sportsman’s Club and the Moose Lodge # 962.
He was a Pittsburgh sport enthusiast and had coached many years for the East Butler Little League team. He was a member of numerous golf leagues. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and enjoyed his Beagles.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Surviving is his wife, Patricia Green Fair, they were married September 4, 1957.
2 sons: William L. (Jody) Fair and Bradley J. (Patricia) Fair, both of Butler.
3 grandsons: Stephen Putney, Jonathan Albright and Jonathan Fair, all of Butler.
3 granddaughters: Katrine, Emmalyn and Alyssa Fair, all of Butler.
A sister, Doris Cesare of Cadogan.
Brother-in-laws: Richard L. Green of Butler, William L. (Julie) Green of Butler and Larry C. Green of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
Dear friends of the family, Kate Bellis Connor and Ken Connor.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Varholla and a brother, Norman Fair.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 3-7 pm Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday at 11:00 am from St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, PA 16002.
