Three legendary football coaches will be leaving their posts, all within a 24 hour period.
Alabama head football coach Nick Saban has announced his retirement. The 72-year old Saban has won seven national championships, more than any other major college football coach. Since taking over the Crimson Tide program in 2007, Saban has a 206-29 record and won six of his national titles. Overall, he has a 291-71-1 record with head coaching positions at Toledo, Michigan State and LSU – where he won his first national championship.
Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots announced this morning that they will be separating. Belichick leaves the Patriots with 333 total victories in the NFL and six Super Bowl titles.
Pete Carroll is out as the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks after 14 seasons. The Seattle organization wanted to make a change in leadership, and the 72-year old Carroll will step down from that job and will be elevated to a front office position.
There are currently seven head coaching vacancies in the NFL.
