Cody Johnston, 24 of Butler passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 with his family by his side after a 7 year-long battle with cancer. He was born on June 9, 1996 to Heather Rhodes and the late Bryan Blackburn. Cody was a volunteer fire fighter and most recently worked for Adler and Sons tree service for numerous years. He was an invaluable asset to every job he ever had as he was an extremely diligent and hard-worker, he was widely known for his unending work ethic. He loved anything with a motor, especially motorcycles, big trucks, and fast cars. He built, collected, and owned classic John Deer farm tractors. He had a “larger than life” personality, fun loving attitude and “fairness to all” disposition, and an uncompromised gift of charisma. Above all else Cody will be remembered for his gift at being a father, as his children were his purpose. He was the beloved husband of Sarah Johnston; father of Charles and Everleigh Johnston; brother of Gabriella Johnston; grandson of Alan (Linda) Rhodes and Keith (Donna) Blackburn; nephew of Shannon (Jeffrey) Proco, Amy (Sean Green) Blackburn, and Doreen Blackburn. He also leaves behind numerous cousins and a large and loving family. Friends will be received on Friday, June 4th from 1-3 & 5-7 PM in the SPENCER D.
