A 12-year-old girl safely escaped after her home caught on fire in Armstrong County.
The girl was sitting at her home in Sugarcreek Township, watching television when the fire alarm went off. She got out of the home and called 911 and then her parents.
The house soon became engulfed in flames and is considered a total loss.
There were also two pets that died in the blaze.
The online group “Fireproof” is holding a fundraising effort for the family of three. There is an online GoFundMe page and clothing donations will be accepted at The Coffee Shop and Fox’s Pizza, which are both in Chicora.
There was no word on what caused the fire.
