Colleen “Co” Zarnick Collins, 92, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 7, 2018 at her residence .
She was born October 26, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Wencil P. Zarnick and the late Elsie Myers Zarnick.
Colleen was a 1943 graduate of Butler Area High School. She was employed by Butler Credit Union prior to her marriage, then became a homemaker. Co was a former member and deaconess of Calvary Presbyterian Church. She volunteered in the Genealogy Dept. at the Butler Public Library and also published the “Collins Family History Book” along with other Collins relatives. Co enjoyed wintering in Myrtle Beach, reading, gardening, canning, traveling, and above all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Keith Collins of Butler, PA, and Brian Collins and his wife Robyn of Butler, PA; four daughters, Gail Swartzlander of Butler, PA, Leslie Raisley and her husband Bill of Prospect, PA, Elaine Nocera and her husband Randy of Dayton, OH, and Marcia Hearl and her husband Reggie of Conway, SC; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Dale Zarnick of Butler, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews .
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Collins, whom she married on November 21, 1949 and who passed away on February 17, 1998; grandson, Isaac “Mack” Cramner, son-in-law, Rick Swartzlander, and sister-in-law, Donna Zarnick.
Friends will be received Monday, June 11, 2018, 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Rev. Stephen C. Cort of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, officiating.
Entombment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
