County commissioners have approved a project to repair a bridge in Winfield Township.
The Frank Denny Bridge, which is on Spiker Road, will be undergoing updates after PennDOT listed it as a bridge of concern.
Officials say the twin arches under the bridge are rusting. County leaders say the repairs will cost just over $300,000 and extend the life of the bridge by another 50 years.
Commissioners opted for repairs instead of a new bridge, citing the cost of a new bridge would be at least $750,000.
There was no timetable on when the project would begin.
