More than $10,000 was raised for adult literacy over the weekend.
It was the third annual ‘Luncheon for Literacy’ on Sunday on the main campus of Butler County Community College.
Each table at the luncheon was sponsored by a business or community member, and then decorated to resemble the theme of a book. Attendees voted on their favorite table. The table modeled after the Better Homes and Gardens Book ‘100 Recipes You’ll Make Forever’ was the fan favorite.
The event benefited BC3’s Adult Literacy Program, which free instruction in basic reading, writing and math skills for adults, as well as GED preparation and workforce development.
