Local artists are also encouraged to submit their work to possibly get it displayed in a special exhibit in the U.S. Capitol.
The 2019 Congressional Art Competition was announced last week by U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson.
He encouraged students of the 15th District so show off their artistic talent and be critiqued by an independent panel of local artists.
All entries must be two dimensional, original, and not violate any U.S. copyright laws. All entries must be received no later than May 1.
The Congressional Art Competition began in the 80s to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents.
