An iconic ride at Conneaut Lake was damaged in a fire yesterday.
Pat of the Blue Streak roller coaster at the amusement park caught on fire following a mechanical issue.
Park officials say they were in the process of dismantling the roller coaster by placing wooden parts into small controlled burn piles.
However, an issue with a piece of heavy equipment caused the fire to eventually spread to the loading dock.
The demolition of the Blue Streak has been underway for the past couple of weeks as new ownership looks to make renovations to the property. The coaster was originally constructed in 1937.
