Constance M. “Connie” Ferrick, age 91, of Butler, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born in 1926 in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Margaret Volpe.
During her working years, Connie was employed as the secretary for Puntureri Beer Distributor.
She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed going to morning mass.
She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her family, and helping to care for all the little ones that came into the family.
She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Ferrick, with whom she enjoyed 60 years of marriage; one daughter, Sandra Smith, of Ohio; one son, Charles Ferrick and his wife, Kathleen (Fennell), of Butler; two sisters, Lucy Mudrick and Florence Stakor, of Butler; two step-granddaughters, Renee Pavlik and her husband, Chris, and their children Riley, Abigail, and Chloe, and Sherri Smith and her son, David; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition, she acted as a second mother to her daughters’ dearest friend, Marianne Laborie, and grandmother to Marianne’s daughter, Nicole.
Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Philip Volpe, and her son-in-law, David Smith.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 28, at 10 a.m. from Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
The family requests memorial donations to Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Avenue, Butler, or to Saint Anthony School Programs — Charitable Foundation, 2000 Corporate Drive, Suite 380, Wexford, PA 15090.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Avenue, Butler.
