Slippery Rock University is hosting a test of knowledge of the United States Constitution today while an event this weekend will connect young children with music.
SRU’s Political Science Department and Pi Sigma Alpha, the SRU chapter of the national political science honor society, are hosting a free event open to the public from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Spotts World Culture Building as part of the 19th annual Constitution Day. Participants will be able to engage in a trivia contest and discussions about the constitution as well as the U.S. political system. Winners will receive prizes.
Then on Saturday, SRU’s Early Childhood and Elementary Music Community Engagement Initiative Event Series will kick off a new school year with “Tuneful Tales” at 10 a.m. in the Swope Music Hall. Elementary school aged kids and families will be guided through musical activities such as story time, crafts, and an instrument petting zoo. Tickets for this free event are available through the SRU website.
This series will continue with events in October, February, and April.
