The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is encouraging the public to make a resolution to be safe on the water in 2018.
There are four recommendations that boaters and water enthusiasts should keep in mind for the upcoming year.
First, always wear a life jacket. Second, take a boating safety course. Third, get a free vessel safety check. Finally, avoid alcohol while in or near the water.
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is a uniformed, civilian, volunteer group that assists the Coast Guard with missions except military operations and direct law enforcement.
