Pennsylvania is set to receive millions in funding to help expand broadband access to residents in the state.
But, ahead of that is a push by Butler County and surrounding areas to challenge a broadband coverage map made by the FCC.
The allotment of federal funding is based around that map, which shows that a majority of the county has access to broadband. Commissioners say that while some have access to it, the broadband is not necessarily good quality.
Specifically, the county is hoping to address the broadband issue at the Route 19/I-79 corridor and north.
Commissioners say they have partnered with the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission to help advocate for challenges to the map.
