Butler County is poised to turn over day-to-day operations of the Alameda Pool to an independent management group this summer.
County Commissioners heard a proposal yesterday that would see Jeff Ellis Management take over certain operations at the pool; it would be for things like lifeguards, training, and pool classes.
The county would still oversee the financial side of the pool by running the concession stand and gate.
Parks and Recreation officials say the price of contracting with Ellis is comparable to running the operations themselves like they’ve done in the past. The contract would be for just over $154,000 per year. The county was paying $125,000 to staff the pool on an annual basis.
The county solicitor said there are a few areas of the contract that would need tweaked, but believed the deal to be appropriate.
