Butler County is partnering with a software company that will help train 911 dispatchers.
The county agreed to a five-year deal with CritiCall/Test Genius that will handle the training.
According to emergency services officials, the training is very extensive and requires multiple 40-hour programs before dispatchers are officially certified.
The agreement is just over $22,000 for the five years.
County officials are also advocating for dispatchers to be classified as first responders because of their role in emergency situations.
