Several local people will be taking on positions of leadership as results from the recent Farm Service Agency County Committee elections have been announced.
Daniel Joseph Kellogg of Slippery Rock was elected as the Administrative Area 1 representative for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency for Butler, Beaver and Allegheny counties. This area includes Mercer, Slippery Rock, Marion, Venango, Allegheny, Parker, Washington, Brady, Worth, Cherry, Clay, Concord, and Fairview townships.
Randal G. Smith of Petrolia has been chosen as the first alternate representative for Administrative Area 1 while Mindy E. Stoops of West Sunbury will serve as the second alternate for this area.
These individuals will join the committee for a three year term beginning next month. Committees make important decisions on programs dealing with disaster and conservation, emergencies, commodity loan price support and county office employment. Committees consist of three to eleven members and meet once a month, or as needed.
