Butler County officially gave approval to an updated emergency operations plan.
The county is required to review and revise the plan every five years per state law.
According to Emergency Management Planner Amy Marree, the plan accounts for all types of disasters.
“We take an all hazards approach. We don’t look at anything specifically in terms of just limiting how to write our emergency operations plan,” Marree said at the public meeting. “Again, it’s an all-hazards emergency operations plan.”
The county commissioners added that the plan was able to draw on recent experiences with the pandemic to help clarify resources that are available in emergency situations.
