A new grant will allow a project at a northern Butler County industrial park to move forward with installing a new wastewater system.
Butler County Commissioners announced that a $1.25 million grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission was awarded to the county for the Allegheny-Clarion Valley Business Park.
This park sits at the I-80 corridor and employs 400 workers with a payroll of $30 million.
The overall $4.66 million project has been funded through grants and federal dollars. This last grant comes just months after the DEP told workers in the park to not consume the water.
Officials believe the project could be completed by March 2024.
