The masking order inside public schools in Pennsylvania has been thrown out by a state court.
The Commonwealth Court sided 4-1 in an opinion that the Secretary of Health doesn’t have the authority to issue a mask mandate.
A judge who wrote the decision said that the mandate is “void and unenforceable.”
Our newsroom is working on finding out the implications this decision has on local school districts and whether or not the Wolf Administration would appeal the decision.
Wolf announced earlier this week that he would return masking decisions to school districts in mid-January.
